The Evil Wizard Smallbone (Sherman)

Twelve-year-old Nick, escaping his awful uncle and cousin, runs away from home one snowy Maine night and ends up at Evil Wizard Books, presided over by Evil Wizard Zachariah Smallbone. While kept captive as the wizard’s boy-of-all-work, Nick explores the bookshop, teaching himself magic with the aid of a very snarky textbook – and eventually becomes embroiled in the wizard’s feud with the French werewolf Fidelou and his motorcycle-riding followers, who wish to conquer the strange little town of Smallbone Cove that the wizard has ruled for centuries. An out-of-the-ordinary fantasy.

    I got the book, the Evil Wizard Smallbone. I read it because I like wizards. The wizard's name in this book is Smallbone and he is just a kid.

    yes yes i did but a few weeks ago i finished the book and gave it to someone else who has it know i dont know but was ding dong good book

    I like this book because it is very interesting and creative. I like to think of it as a magical story. these are some of the reasons why i like this book.

      I agree with you wizards are cool. Does this wizard cast spells like Hare Porter.

      Yes he does cast spells like Harry Potter just not as much.

      Well josh he does cast spells but not for a good cause. On the other hand harry potter casts spells for a good cause. Therefore there is actually quite a difference between Harry and Smallbone.

    I am only on chapter 3 but I agree this is a really good book. Smallbone the wizard has Nick doing all the work for him. It is really for his enjoyment though because Smallbone could have all the work done in a flick of his wrist. Will Nick ever be free again...
